Staff Council Seeks
Needs You! SAC is searching for new council members
The council provides a forum for discussing issues related
to staff as a resource for many on- and off-campus inquiring
groups. In the past year, SAC has had representatives
address the council from UA Human Resources, Parking and
Transportation, the UA Web Council, Ombuds Program,
Strategic Planning and Budget Committee, UA provost and
state legislators and liaisons. The council in turn makes
recommendations on existing and proposed University policies
and procedures to ensure classified staff members are
considered and included in the processes.
Nominations are being accepted on the Staff
Advisory Council Web site under the Membership
Application heading. Nominees must be non-probationary classified
staff employees who are energetic, conscientious, and concerned with
staff issues.

Apr 12 - Campus Emergency Response
Exercise On the morning of April
12, the university will conduct an exercise designed to
rehearse and test emergency procedures that have been
developed by the Campus Emergency Response Team. The
exercise will involve a simulated emergency, which will
occur on campus and then spread into the surrounding
community. I do not know what type of emergency it will
be or where the event will occur. I write to you
to urge each of you to keep in mind that your own
building may need to be evacuated and that repercussions
may last all day. I would suggest that you not engage
in any experiments that day that would be especially
costly - or would be outright dangerous -- if they have
to be interrupted. Of course, I also urge you to learn
what you can from the test of emergency procedures to
ensure that you and your research teams are prepared for
a real emergency. Please inform others about the exercise.

JOHNNY ANGEL IS MY BROTHER
Cheryl Booth has worked as a psychic medium for over
twenty years. During her presentation and book
signing she will give a few brief demonstrations
"mini-readings" to those in attendance. Her book,
Johnny Angel is My Brother, is the true story of how
her
younger brother Johnny, born with severe cerebral
palsy, touched Cheryl's life and how he continues to
guide her from the other side. She believes those
who are born with such extreme disabilities are
often very evolved souls who have much to teach us.
She'll offer us a glimpse into her beginnings in a
Pentecostal home, where a psychic kid was not what her
parents expected! More information: 621-8475
