Pride
Night was great success. Tour of the capital was fabulous. Thanks
were given to Carolyn for a job well done. We should have an
information table at these events to promote SAC. Need to send a
thank you note to our Representative for her time and hospitality.
Carolyn reported that 41 legislators and approximately 500 people
attended the function.
·
Daughters on Campus Event is approaching. CSW is looking for
volunteers for
the Daughters on Campus program. If you are able to spare some time
please
let Dorana know! Kathi will be sending more information later.
·

receive it so Kathi will resend. The walk is March 19. Contact
person: Eddie Nichols at 795-1403
·
Award
Ceremony is April 15. Need volunteers to help decorate and also
stay for the ceremony. We will start at noon in the ballroom.
·
Kathi
and Karen met with Juan Garcia on Building Bridges-Breaking Barriers
campaign for Faculty and Staff. He has a lot of ideas. Cathy
Nicholson suggested prospective of staff population to be presented
at Headstart (2nd day, maybe) by SAC would be a good
start.
·
At
one of the MPAC meetings Kathi attended they discussed having
faculty go to classes on how to manage staff.
Treasurer’s Report
– Ana Rodriguez
She reported that
for month of February we spent $1200 and have $3,600 in the bank.
Special Guest:
Website Redevelopment Project – Tracey Hummel
Part of the Web
team (Tracey Hummel, Janis Leibold, Cathy Nicholson) presented the
new website (redesigned) to the group. They have also been
presenting the new site to other groups for their input. During the
summer, everyone will have an opportunity/option to use the new site
and send in his or her views to the team. Timetable for completion
is summer, 2005. One neat feature is the breadcrumbs that let you
go as deep as you want. From the main website Faculty and Staff
will have their own mini homepage. Departments will be able to send
announcement pertaining to faculty and staff to be posted. Another
feature is Quick Link-that will let you customize bookmarks to
individual use (add and edit only UA sites). On this site some of
the categories will be workplace resources, employee resources and
additional information that link to pertinent information for each
category.
Human Resources
Department – Cathy Nicholson (HR Liaison)
Employment
screening is now available. Call Cathy if you have questions.
Leslie Porter is preparing Guidelines and instructions, which will
be a bridge between policy and forms. Department must do
pre-employment Screening. See HR website for forms. References
must be checked (mandatory).
SAC April Fool’s
Bake Sale – Kathy Bell
Bake sale will
begin at 9 and end by 1:00 pm. We will need to set-up by 8:30 a.m.
by the mouth of the tunnel located by the music department. Sign up
sheet for times was passed around for people to indicate time they
can work. We will need two per shift to man the table. One table
for the goodies and another for the SAC info. All donations should
be bagged and ready for sale. Prices were discussed. Ruth will
find out what her group started with money-wise. Need to have a
sign with our name and also letting them know that the proceeds will
go to the Emily Krauss Scholarship Fund. Have the bakers/donators
deliver the baked goods to the table on that day or make
arrangements with Kathy Bell.
Meeting adjourned
