Spring 2009

 

We received twenty-five applications totaling $7,144.34 for the Emily Krauz Staff Endowment Scholarship for Spring 2009! The judging committee met to review, evaluate and select award recipients. 

In all, 10 awards totaling $1,346.00 were made to the following individuals:

Jennifer Cubeta of Molecular and Cellular Biology - $100 (50% of which will be covered by CoSSAC - College of Science Staff Advisory Council)

Deborah Kimball of Chemistry - $100

Clay Lewis of the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine - $200

Jose Munoz-Rodriguez of the Arizona Cancer Center - $125

Stephanie Pearmain of English - $125

Loretta Pedraza of Human Resources - $175

Sylvia Perez of Facilities Management - $100

Steven Phalen of the Main Library - $146

Cheralyn Schmidt of the Pima County Cooperative Extension - $125

Alice Stone of the ARL – Division of Neurobiology - $150

 

Awards are made on a reimbursement basis twice a year, in December and April.  December awards are for courses taken in the Summer and Fall, and April awards are for courses taken in the Winter and Spring.

Special thanks to CoSSAC for their 50/50 match for College of Science staff recipients and SAC for their generous supplement of $500. Their support helps to ensure that the endowment dollars go further in these uncertain financial times.
