When you nominate
someone for the awards, and letters are required for the
nominee, does the person nominating also write a letter or
does the letters just come from other people?
That
is up to the nominators. They can do a letter or just
complete the form and get others to write the letters.

I have a question about The
University Team Award for Excellence. It says
that it is presented to a team primarily comprised
of Classified Staff and Appointed Professionals. Are
academic professionals considered appointed
professionals?
Academic
appointments
are not
eligible (teaching)
Fiscal
appointments
are
eligible (non-teaching)
If
you
send us the names
of the team members we can double check

I was told that appointed personnel and
professors are not eligible for a staff
award for excellence?
If
they are listed as an Appointed
Personnel and a teaching faculty
member they are
not eligible for the
Staff Awards for Excellence even
in the appointed personnel
category. They are eligible for
the Billy Joe Varney if they
have been employed at the UA for
15 years.
Use the codes in PSOS to
determine if they qualify. The
codes are F and E (F=fiscal
appointed and E= Faculty
Academic appointed).

If a team consist of (C)lassified
Staff, (F)iscal Appointment, (G)raduate
Students, and (C)lassified Staff (non
benefit eligible) are they eligible for the
Team Award For Excellence?
Yes, they
qualify as a team, but the monetary award
will need to be transferred into a
department account. They can not have the
monetary award given to the individuals
because the graduate student and the part
time classified staff are not benefit
eligible.
