Good Morning! Welcome to our
second annual Supervisor’s Breakfast. We hope you
enjoy your breakfast and the presentation of “what
is SAC”.
This breakfast is in appreciation of your support,
Thank you! Also would like to thank the committee
who put this breakfast together. They organized this
wonderful event, Please stand up and let’s give them
a round of applause!
Being President for the past two years has given me
the opportunity to learn and help Classified Staff...we represent nearly 6,000 staff.
I personally would like to thank
my Department
Head, Mike Shupe for the encouragement and support
that allowed me to participate. Without this
encouragement and support from my department and
fellow staff members I would never have been able to:
Eva introduced
our special speaker Cathy Nicholson, SPHR,
Director, HR Services (AHSC)

Cathy has been in HR management at the UA
for 25+ years, directing a variety of areas
including Employee Relations, Compensation,
HR Project Management and HR-IT. She was
instrumental in the development of the UA's
Workplace
Violence Policy and currently participates
on the Campus Emergency Response Team. She's
also been an active advocate for shared
governance groups on campus.
Prior to her years in Tucson, she worked in
HR at Penn State and Illinois State
University, and has a B.S. in Management, as
well as certification by the Society for
Human Resources Management as a Senior

currently a member of the Board of Directors
of the
Arizona Chapter of CUPA-HR and the national

Cathy has been an
important part of SAC history and avidly spoke of
that history and accomplishments including how we
came into being and the importance of our mission
