Degree Requirements
MA/MSc:
(1) completion of 24 credit hours of courses at the 500 level and above in accordance with the current study plan. Grade point average for graduate students should not be less than 75%
(2) passing the comprehensive exam in the field of specialization
(3) preparing and successfully defending a thesis (9 credit hours)

Scholarships/Graduate Support
The University sends scholars to obtain doctorates in Arabic Studies from United States and United Kingdom universities who join the university academic staff on their return.

Special Features
The Language Center at Yarmouk University, established in 1979, is responsible for planning and executing the English Language University Requirement courses, planning and executing Arabic programs for non-native speakers, and planning and executing Hebrew, Turkish, and Persian courses. The Center is planning to offer a diploma in Arabic as a foreign language (AFL). It seeks to develop its AFL programs through joint cooperation with similar institutions outside Jordan. Currently, the center offers the following kinds of Arabic programs: General Arabic (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
Arabic for Occupational Purposes (AOP)
Arabic for Diplomats
Media Arabic. The Center is responsible for two language labs with a total seating capacity of sixty four. In addition, it possesses recording equipment and appropriate audio-visual teaching facilities. It participates in strengthening the ties between the University and the local community by executing English courses and TOEFL programs.
