BIS in Middle East Studies
The Middle East Center for Peace, Culture and Development at Georgia State University
offers a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Middle East Studies. This
interdisciplinary program focuses on the modern Middle East. Students take a range of
courses, including Arabic or other Middle Eastern language, from faculty in numerous
departments.

Arabic is offered through the second year (intermediate) level cross-registration enables
students to take advanced Arabic, Hebrew, or Persian at Emory University or Clark Atlanta

The Middle East Center at Georgia State University provides opportunities for students to
learn more about the Middle East. The Center hosts a Speaker Series each semester. Study
abroad opportunities are also available.
