Special Features
The King Fahd Middle East Studies Program was inaugurated in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas in 1993-94. It currently functions as an independent area studies program.  Besides its commitment to academic research and teaching, the Program also emphasizes outreach activities to both pre-collegiate institutions and community organiations.  The King Fahd program currently sponsors a regional Model Arab League at the pre-collegiate and collegiate levels.  The Program also sponsors collaborative efforts in the Middle East and related areas such as the Archeological Field School with Yarmouk University, a student and faculty exchange agreement with al-Akhawayn University in Morocco, and a new collaboration with the Aga Khan Humanities Project in Central Asia.
