ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1. Dr H made an IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT about assignments for the end of the semester:

• One of the remaining planned assignments has been dropped!  Now you have ONLY two left:  I-4 & I-5
  
•    The REMAINING INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENTS I-4 & 1-5 will be posted in D2L tonight or tomorrow.
    
          I-4 Being a GC-Savvy Consumer (35 pts) due on or before the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (Dec 2)
          I-5  The Great Debate!  ( 15 pts) Task:  write a 1-minute opening statement due the last day of class Dec  9th
  
          You can get going on them any time.
  
• Remember, the THINKING DEEPLY activity is also required.  However, now the point total for that has been raised from 5 to 15 points -- so you can earn more points by doing something fun (watching a movie, going to a talk, etc.)  Such a Deal!!!

2. Dr H gave a presentation on: 

       Topic #16 Short-Term Climatic Variability & Natural Climatic Forcing   [color pdf] [ grayscale pdf]

3.  We didn't have time to work on the G-4 Volcanism & Climate Activity (on pp 98-99 in CLASS NOTES) so will do that at the next class -- but you are asked to work on it in advance to make the group work more efficient next Tuesday in class.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

1.   One of your remaining class ASSIGNMENTS has been dropped!   Only I-4  (due Dec 2) & I-5  (due Dec 9) will be required (in addition to the already-assigned Thinking Deeply report -- see item 2 below).  They will be posted in D2L soon so you can get going on them at any time.

2.  The point total for the required THINKING DEEPLY activity has been increased from 5 to 15 points.

3. UPCOMING THINKING DEEPLY OPPORTUNITIES were announced.  See them listed at the Thinking Deeply linked under ASSIGNMENTS in D2L.

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• Review the presentation on Topics #16 above to get ready for Test #3 on Thursday.
• RQ-7 was due today at the cutoff time.  If you missed it, submit an ABSOLUTION FORM if you haven't done so already.
• Your last RQ (RQ-8) is due NEXT Thursday on Nov 20th.
  Please be sure you do the SELF TEST for RQ-8 -- it will have some important info in it that is not in the textbook which you will need to know.
