ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1.  Dr H reminded that class that TEST #2 will take place NEXT TUESDAY (Oct 7th).  The Top Ten Things to Study is now posted under Study Guides in D2L.  There will be a Preceptor Study Session Monday night from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in the ILC.  Room to be announced in D2L on Monday.

2.  Next Dr H went over the  IN-CLASS SELF TEST questions (beginning with SLIDE #24) from the Topic #10 presentation given at our last class:

3. Then Dr H then gave a presentation on Topic #11 The Earth's Energy Balance. This is one of the MOST IMPORTANT TOPICS OF THE SEMESTER for understanding global change processes. :

                    with a section that reviews some Thermodynamics concepts: 
                    conduction, convection, radiation + Sensible Heat (H) and Latent H (LE)

4.  Students barely had enough time to get into Groups to work on Assignment G-3 Applying the Energy Balance Terms on page 67 of Class Notes, so G-3 will be worked on next Tuesday after the GROUP TEST for Test #2.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

• Test #2 is NEXT TUESDAY Oct 7th --the “Top 10” is posted in D2L

• There will be a Preceptor Study Session on Mon Oct 6th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in ILC ___ (room to be announced on Monday -- see D2L.

• There are no RQ’s due this week or next!
   

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:  

• Review the extremely important presentation on Topic #11 above, as well as the In-Class Self Test section of Topic #10.  The Topic #11 material is not in your textbook.
  
• Study for Test #2.  Use the "Top Ten" to guide your studying to the most important concepts.
