ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

 1. Dr. H gave a presentation on Topic #8 on Atmospheric Structure & Chemical Composition which included some "In-Class Self Test" questions.

2. Students present got ATTENDANCE credit by answering the Self Test questions on an index card and also by writing down their thoughts on the Sustainability Segment video:  "The Story of Stuff"

Explanation of Attendance Checks:   every time there is an "Attendance Check" in class, the names of those students who participated are recorded.  At the end of the semester, you will earn up to five (5) Active Participation points based on the % of time you were present for all attendance checks taken.

 

3. SUSTAINABILITY SEGMENT:  we watched a video on "THE STORY OF STUFF" and students wrote down their thoughts/opinions about it on the back of the index card.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

• RQ-3 was due TODAY 30 minutes before class. The RQ ABSOLUTION FORM is available for a one-time extension if you missed getting it in. 
  
  ASSIGNMENT I-2 is now posted and is due a week from Thursday on Thu Oct 2.  Dr H will "demo" how to do it in class this Thursday and there will be a few optional I-2 help sessions next week.

• Review the presentations on Topic #8 above and the STORY OF STUFF video (which you can watch online).   
  SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY:  Even though you missed class, you can get "attendance credit" for today if you email Dr H with your thoughts / reaction to the Story of Stuff video after watching it online.
