ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

In class today we did the following:

1.   Students got in their groups at the start of class and finished up the G-1 Periodic Table assignment.

2.  Then in an ungraded activity, each group compiled their Ecological Footprint information on a worksheet and calculated the Group's average Ecological Footprint.  The results will be presented in Thursday's class for all groups

3. Dr H gave  a presentation on  Topic #5 Electromagnetic Energy   (class ended a tad early - material on "Sun Safety" and an overview of the next assignment (I-2) was postponed until Thursday's class.)

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:

  • You missed the deadline to turn in ASSIGNMENT I-1 Your Ecological Footprint.  One point is taken off for every day late, so get your assignment to me ASAP by dropping it off at my office.  If you wait until Thursday's class, that will be 2 points off

  • Review the presentation for Topic #5 that you missed (by clicking on the presentation link above).

  • You cannot make up today's (ungraded) Group Ecological Footprint Activity.  In-class activities like this are one way in which I take attendance, but you lucked out if you were absent today because no points were awarded for today's activity.  There will be several other opportunities like this -- some with points you can earn, some without.  If you come to class regularly you will be able to earn all the necessary points needed for your 10 "AP" (Active Participation) points.

  • Be sure you visit the D2L checklist to stay on top of what tasks need to be completed this week and started for next week -- NOTE that RQ-2 (your next graded RQ must be completed a half hour before class on Thursday Sep 11th.
