ANNOUNCEMENTS

IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY

Today in class we did the following:

• All students filled in a yellow Background Information Form and turned it in before leaving. If you missed today's class, click the following link to get the online version of the BACKGROUND FORM, (double sided) fill it out, then bring it to Thursday's class or email it to Dr. H as soon as possible at:   katie@ltrr.arizona.edu    NOTE:  On the second page, do NOT look up the answers of the "Background Knowledge Check" to impress me -- just write down what basic knowledge you have in your head now.  This will not be graded!

• Dr. H encouraged students in the class to consider becoming a PRECEPTOR (see the above presentation's blue-background slides).

ANNOUNCEMENTS  

• The  CLASS NOTES   packet is not yet ready for purchase.  Dr H will announce in class and on D2L when it is available in the bookstore.
• Office hours held by Dr H and the GTA's will begin next week.  Times will be posted on the class webpage under Teaching Team later this week.
  
•  assignment #1  announced in class:

(1)  Familiarize yourself with our D2L course site.

(2) Read & study the  Syllabus and the online FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)   Then take SELF TEST ST-A and Practice Readiness Quiz RQ-A to test your understanding of the course logistics & policies.

(3) READ the short essay “On Science” by Robert Pirsig before class on Thursday 8/28 -- available on the NATS 101-GC webpage under QUICK LINKS in a pdf file – the PASSWORD is:   nats101gc
