About the Project:
This project aims to discover how cultural and social contexts influence risk perception and behavior, focusing on the decision to cross or not cross a flooded roadway or wash. The study fuses theories in risk perception, risk communication, cultural and social psychology, and decision science.

We will be conducting a workshop with flood risk managers and other interested stakeholders to discuss the possible utility of this type of  information in flood mitigation here in Tucson.

To learn more, see our  Project Information Flyer [pdf].  If you would like to participate in the project by attending the workshop, please fill out and submit the Workshop Participation Form below.  There is a space included for questions and comments as well.    If you know someone else who might be interested in attending the workshop, please forward this webpage to them!  We look forward to working with you!

This project is funded as part of The Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS) and through a grant from The University of Arizona's Social and Behavioral Sciences Research Institute (SBSRI).
