This course focuses on the relationship between archaeological investigations and the study of the Bible. In combination with a discussion of how archaeology can assist in reconstructing many aspects of the cultural and social milieu of the Bible, this course will survey major discoveries which illuminate the Bible.  Survey of Jewish and Christian apocalyptic literature which explores the literary features and sociological significance of apocalyptic thought in Western culture from antiquity to the present.

Prerequisites: none but recommended are two courses from Tier One, Traditions & Cultures (TRAD 101,102,103,104) or JUS 301 Jewish Civilizations.
