Reading and reading comprehension:
By the end of the semester, students will be expected to be able to
read and comprehend a 100-150 word text containing paal piel verbs in
past, present and future, Nifal, hitpael and hifil verbs in present and
past tense.
Writing:
1. Students will be expected to be able to answer questions
pertaining to a given text in writing, using correct grammar, spelling,
and syntax.
2. Students will correspond with instructor weekly in the form of
"dialog journals." Students will be expected to use vocabulary
and grammar commensurate with level of instruction.
3. Student will be expected to write 100-120 word compositions
covering relevant subjects.
Comprehension and speech:
The following subject matters will be studied:
1. Fables and their meanings.
2. Smoking cessation.
3. A visit to the museum - discussing art.
4. Putting an ad in the paper.
5. The history of the revival of the Hebrew language.
6. The history of the alphabet.
7. Archaeological finds.
8. How to stay young.
9. Immigrating to Israel.
