Reading and reading comprehension:
By the end of the semester, students will be expected to be able to
read and comprehend a 100-150 word text containing paal verbs in past,
present and future. Nifal, hitpael and hifil verbs in present and past
tense.
Writing:
1. Students will be expected to be able to answer questions
pertaining to a given text in writing, using correct grammar, spelling,
and syntax.
2. Students will correspond with instructor weekly in the form of
"dialog journals." Students will be expected to use vocabulary
and grammar commensurate with level of instruction.
3. Student will be expected to write 50-100 word compositions
covering relevant subjects.
Comprehension and speech:
The following subject matters will be taught:
1. Family life: expansion on basic level of knowledge.
2. In the restaurant: review and expansion.
3. Home life, house and apartment: review and expansion.
4. In the theater: review and expansion.
5. In the office.
6. The telephone.
7. Women's and men's apparel.
Students will be expected to be able to converse about these
subjects.
