The purpose of the fund is to encourage and support UA career staff members towards their career advancement and/or education. This scholarship can be applied towards educational expenses such as registration costs, books and supplies. Class registration may be at the UA, including correspondence courses, or Pima Community College. Awards are presented twice a year and average about $150.00 to each recipient. Performance of More Secrets: The Thing You Swore You Would Never, Ever Tell Anyone! by the Odyssey Storytellers.  PostSecret is a worldwide community art project started by Frank Warren in November 2004. Over three years and 100,000 secrets later, PostSecret has become an international phenomenon.  The Union Gallery will present an exhibit of original PostSecret cards from November 2 to December 15, 2007. We invite all members of the UA and Tucson community to contribute their own cards. Drop boxes will be available in the Student Union Memorial Center, the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, Campus Health, and the School of Art. Be creative -- let the card be your canvas! International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education. This weeklong observance is part of a continuing promotion of programs that prepare Americans for participation in the global economy and attract future leaders from abroad to study in the United States.  This year, the division of International Affairs at The University of Arizona, is pleased to highlight the work of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) by welcoming Anika Rahman, JD, President of Americans for UNFPA as the Keynote Speaker, and Gamilah Ghaleb Al-Sharai, Director of the Yemen Family Care Association, a 2006 Rita Hauser Americans for UNFPA Honoree. Americans for UNFPA is the official support organization for UNFPA, which provides women’s health care and promotes the rights of women in 140 countries around the world.  It is my hope that you encourage all members of our community to take advantage of their presence on our campus by attending the kickoff event on Tuesday, November 13 at 12 pm in the Gallagher Theater in the Student Union Memorial Center.  The University of Arizona’s division of International Affairs is coordinating the events during UA’s celebration of International Education Week and encourages participation across campus. If your department or organization would like to sponsor an event, please complete and submit the Participation Form available at http://international.arizona.edu by October 12th. Examples of events or activities suggested by the U.S. Departments of State and Education can be found by visiting the following website: http://iew.state.gov/events.htm.  Events and activities on any level are encouraged and will be included in the official University schedule of events that will be distributed throughout the campus and the Tucson community. Curb Auto Theft with the Watch Your Car Program:
It's Quick, Easy and FREE!

The Watch Your Car decal program is a free, voluntary program that vehicle owners enroll their vehicles with the Arizona Automobile Theft Authority. The vehicle is then entered into the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) database and participants receive decals for their front and rear windows. By displaying the decals, vehicle owners convey to law enforcement officials that their vehicle is not usually in use between the hours of 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM, when the majority of auto thefts occur. In addition, by enrolling in the Watch Your Car Program, vehicle owners also authorize law enforcement officials to stop their vehicle at any time during the day or night within one mile of the border, if there is a suspicion that the vehicle is being illegally operated.

If a police officer witnesses the vehicle in operation between these hours, they have the right to stop the vehicle and verify it is being legally operated by the rightful owner.

To register for the program online go to: https://www.aata.state.az.us/Watch_Your_Car/Info_Request/signup_request.html

Register by mail by downloading the form at: http://www.azwatchyourcar.com/pdfs/WYC%20-%20application%20form%20for%20website.pdf  Print it, fill it out and mail back.
