Work Connections
Aging loved ones/eldercare costs more in time
and money than childcare. Worklife support is there for you to talk
about life cycle issues. Professional development, etc for the whole
campus community. Wide range of services...personalized child care
parenting consultations. Mommy Connections. Eldercare and caregiving
consultations. Identify topical issues for aging loved ones
(housing, transportation, meals).
Linda Charlip, HR Director of Research
Analysis
Awareness of money for the last raise came and
legislature wanted the system by which it was distributed set up
right away...the experience was very stressful to all involved.
Provost office convened a workgroup to standardize a system and
policies for future allocations. Eligibility for salary programs
would support attracting, retaining and rewarding a qualified and
diverse workforce within the boundaries of financial feasibility.
Employees shall be externally competitive and internally equitable
and based on performance as recognized by the work unit. Money
allocated for staff will stay with staff and will be complied with
the set structure. If legislature gives monies without set rules
this system will go into effect and will be based on merit, market
and equity. Policy is that evaluations are to be done every 12
months for every employee. .i.e., compensation shall be based on
performance.
Looks like we may get an increase of 3% in the
new year though there will also be a retirement ERE raise. Total
Benefits package is 40% of your pay and should be remembered. To
find out specifics check it out on the HR website.
HR is interested in getting feedback about
this program which the workgroup have tried to make as flexible and
equitable. Any responses should be sent to Jean by the 20th. If you
have comments contact
charlip@email.arizona.edu
